New Haven, CT rapper Cambatta returns to the hip hop scene with a new single and video for “Oxymoron”. After the success of his “The Visionary” mixtape he is now working on his next project. Cambatta has worked with many of today’s most rated underground artists including Sha Stimuli, Skyzoo, Torae and many others. The music video was filmed in Connecticut and was directed by DJ Nice. The track was produced by UK producer Jon Phonics a regular name on the Louis Den Beat Battles scene who is also about to release his second production mixtape next month featuring a host of UK and US artists.

still here, working on numerous things, Half Past Calm 2 is well and truly on it's way, a lot of stuff recorded, my final few weeks of university right now though so i'm letting that take priority (all the heads thanks for your patience). I'm also working on collaborative projects with Jyager and Verb T (shhhhh) so stay tuned....

Yo! If anyone is around in the London area tomorrow night (Friday 27th Feb 2009) come and check me out doing my thing live with the Louis Den squad, also in attendance will be Kelakovski, Kosyne, Sivey, Mazworth, Ed Strong (IRS), Shears, Mr DIck, Raul Supreme and Myke Forte.

The night will also showcase some of the worlds best MC's as they battle for their country to hold the title of champ. ALSO....its worth reaching if not for any of the stuff listed above, but to see the speakers corner quartet. The most slept on contemporary jazz outfit doing it right now, accompanying them on the mic will be Reveal, Kyza and Life MC.

On Feb 12th in Birmingham, the 3rd Louis Den Live Beat Cypher was held, this time Producers included Raul Supreme, Percy Filth, Winchester & Myself. With Live P.A.'s from the likes of Kyza & Jyager.

Check this video of the first round. We were just warming up in there, so hopefully, more videos will be posted soon!

Whats good people, it's been a hot minute since i updated this spot right here, but a few people been hittin me up asking me where i'm at (you know who you are!...) so here goes....an update!!

First off, myself and m9ine where out in New York City last month for a little while. Lots of drinks were drunk and records bought so expect some new heat coming to a stereo coming near you real soon! Shouts to everyone who showed us love out there, and extra props go to dj j ronin, the guys at the halftime show and the heads at eow for puttin us on and showing mad love. Look out for a few collabos with our cousins across the pond surfacing sooooon....

It's 2008 Bitches,

And I know what you all asking, 'where can I check for more Jon Phonics beats?'

So i'mma tell you...

First of all keep your eyes peeled for the new M9 '144,000 mixtape'. A follow up to his 'High Fidelity' debut last year. I think its fair to say magazines an bloggers alike went nuts for 'High Fidelity' (check some of the reviews) and they can all expect nothing but Hip Hop the way it's supposed to sound, from this release. With guest spots from some of the UK's best MC's in the form of Triple Darkness, and affiliates, Nine Planets. Wu-Tangs Bronze Nazareth, Njeri Earth, production from myself and Beat Butcha and artwork from the spray can beast they call CLART, this shits gonna be a necessity for any self respecting hip hop fan

and that's not all!...

This year also sees the release of Mr Drastick's 'Gladiator's Anthem' album, after a big year in 2007 releasing mixtapes and recording, the product is finally complete. Featuring a healthy dose of Jon Phonics/Ill Rhythmikz production, (alongside Halal Beat specialists Chemo and Beat Butcha) and guest spots from pretty much any one who counts, the album looks set to be a BIG one, and do alot not just for Mr Drastick, but for UK Hip Hop.
